Educator Cards

Educator cards:

  • Are separate from personal library cards
  • Have six-week loan and renewal periods
  • Do not have late fines
  • May have up to 25 checkouts/holds at a time
  • May have up to 2 lost items removed with no charge each year
  • Are for borrowing materials to use with your students

Who can get an Educator card? People who:

  • Live or teach in Nueces County or the library’s service area
  • Teach in schools and the community:

                  *Childcare or preschool

                  *Kindergarten through college

                  *Homeschool

                  *Online academics

                  *After school services, such as YMCA, Boys and Girls Club 

                  *GED or literacy programs

                  *Community educators

To get an Educator Card:

  • Visit a Nueces County Library location with photo identification (Or apply online and send us an email or call us)
  • Educator cards are free for people who live or teach in the library’s service area.
  • Please bring one of these items with you – or talk to us about options:

               *School, childcare or organization identification

               *School, childcare or organization pay stub

               *Letter on letterhead from childcare director, school or organization administrators

               *Homeschooling transcript or curriculum

               *Texas State Child Care Division certification

Educator cards cannot be used for:

  • Group access to Nueces County Library subscription databases
  • Interlibrary loans
  • Additional internet computer time at the library
