The mission of Nueces County Public Libraries is to promote the development of independent self confident, literate children and adults through provisions of open access to social, cultural, intellectual, informative, and recreational resources.

Nueces County Libraries has been established and is maintained under the provisions of the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 323, sub-chapter A: County Libraries.
